Because some pests problems (like ants and rodents) look different depending on where you live, they offer plans that are customized to your specific location. These can further vary depending on the severity of your infestation and homeowner preference.

What to expect

For residential pest control, Western Pest offers a program called the Home Protection Plan (HPP). This plan provides year-round protection from a large number of the most common home-invading pests, including ants, cockroaches, mice, and many more.

Western’s HPP includes seasonal pest control visits from our professionally-trained technicians scheduled three times a year to help prevent your pest problem from reoccurring. Free emergency service visits are also included.

If you encounter pest problems in between one of the seasonal service visits, all you have to do is pick up the phone and call Western Pest. One of their technicians will come to your home or business, at no cost to you.

Treatment frequency

Western Pest offers seasonal pest control visits three times a year. If you are in need of emergency services, they will send a technician free of charge.

On the first visit, Western Pest works to address the initial pest problem. Then, depending on the time of year, they begin a Spring–Early Summer, Summer–Fall, or Fall–Winter Program.

    1. Thorough inspection in and around your home for pest conditions and treatment of any pests that are discovered
    2. Application of a protective barrier around the exterior of your home to keep crawling insects from entering
    3. Checking of non-toxic, strategically placed Watchdog™ and Mouse House™ monitors
  2. Summer–Fall
    1. Careful exterior inspection and treatment of pests, especially wasps’ and bees’ nests
    2. Interior inspection, if desired, and treatment of any new home pest infestations
    3. Exterior barrier application to keep out pest invaders
  3. Fall–Winter
    1. A comprehensive Pest Management Inspection of your home and property for potential pest problems
    2. Checking of non-toxic strategically placed Watchdog™ and Mouse House™ monitors
    3. Thorough evaluation and treatment of any pest infestations


Western Pest Services does not offer any prices on its website. Instead, the company encourages customers to call a local representative and schedule a free consultation. While its plans are fairly straightforward, Western does offer extras and additional services and prefers to talk to you about your pest control needs in order to help you pick the exact treatment plan that works for you.

While most pest control companies offer guarantees to refund the cost of your visit or your most recent payment if you’re not satisfied with services, Western Pest Services offers to refund your entire annual fee. This is, far and away, the best customer service guarantee in the market.

Years in business

Western Pest has offered pest control services in the Eastern United States since 1928. J.E. Sameth, the founder, started the company before the Great Depression with his sister (the customer service representative) and his father (the salesman).

They were bought by Rollins, Inc. in 2004 (who also owns Orkin). Before the acquisition, they were the eighth largest pest control company in America.

BBB rating

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has accredited Western Pest Services since 2013 and has given them an A+ rating.

The BBB accreditation of Western Pest is actually a very good sign. For the most part, negative Western Pest Services reviews on BBB simply don’t exist, which is very impressive. Rollins, Inc., Western Pest Services’ parent company, has also received an A+ rating.
