Home Warranty of America does not give out static prices for their plans online because prices vary according to location. Instead, the provider encourages homeowners to contact them for a free quote or check out their costs page, where you can enter your state and see approximate plans and pricing.

According to Consumers Advocate, “Premiums with Home Warranty of America vary by state, but are generally around $580 a year for their Premier plan, and $695 a year for Premier Plus. Their GreenPlus plan offers very low yearly premiums at $5 to $75 per year.”

Service fee

Home Warranty of America calls their service fee a “Trade Call Fee” and give you two options. You can choose either a $100 fee for a lower monthly rate or a $75 fee for a higher monthly rate.

Claims process

After the standard 30-day waiting period, warranty holders can file a claim online or over the phone. Unlike most home warranty companies, Home Warranty of America does not require you to use service professionals in their network. They do require that you get your service professionals pre-approved, though, which can slow down the repair process.

Home Warranty of America offers a renewable, 13-month plan.

Coverage exclusions

Though maintenance records are not required for service, Home Warranty of America can deny any claims made on appliances or services that have not been properly maintained or installed. Home Warranty of America will not perform any work related to basic maintenance of systems or appliances.
