Advanced Home Warranty offers two plans: a basic plan with comprehensive coverage and a total plan, which includes your washer, dryer, fridge, and air conditioner. They also offer additional coverage options for a more extensive plan. Optional elements can be added to the basic or total plan on an opt-in, a la carte basis.

Service fee

Once your services are approved and performed by in-network technicians, you will be required to pay a trade service fee of $60.

Claims process

You are responsible for notifying Advanced Home Warranty as soon as you discover a problem. You can call Advanced Home Warranty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They will contact a service provider within two days (four days if the call is made on a weekend) and can make accommodations in the event of an emergency.

Advanced Home Warranty arranges for a qualified service provider to make repairs and replacements on your systems and appliances. If you choose your own provider and have the work done prior to approval, it will not be covered by your warranty. After you pay the $60 trade service fee, a technician approved by Advanced Home Warranty will be sent to address the problem. If the rendered services fail, additional repairs will be made for free within 90 days for parts-related malfunctions and 30 days for labor-related malfunctions.

Coverage length

Coverage lasts for one year and will automatically renew if the policy is not cancelled.

Coverage exclusions

You can see Advanced Home Warranty’s complete list of liability limits online. Advanced Home Warranty “will not cover hazardous or toxic materials including but not limited to mold, lead paint, or asbestos, nor costs or expenses associated with refrigerant recovery, recycling, reclaiming or disposal.”

Advanced Home Warranty will also not cover repairs involving, “chemical or sedimentary build up, rust or corrosion, mildew, mold, misuse or abuse, failure to clean or maintain as specified by the equipment manufacturer, missing parts, structural changes, fire, freezing, electrical failure or surge, water damage, lightning, mud, earthquake, soil movement, soil settlement, settling of home, storms, accidents, pest damage, acts of God, or machine failure due to excessive or inadequate water pressure.”

Advanced Home Warranty has been around since 2014. It’s a sister company of Choice Home Warranty, which has been in business for more than 9 years.

Consumers Advocate gives Advanced Home Warranty an 8.5/10. This score is based on Advanced Home Warranty’s comprehensive coverage that is slightly below industry standards in regards to price. Consumers Advocate also maintains that, while Advanced Home Warranty’s service is excellent, they have very little online presence, possibly because the company is fairly new.
