Transparency to you, our reader, is our top priority.

We believe everyone should be able to make decisions about their home with confidence. While our site doesn’t review every home products or services company in the market, we’re proud that our reviews and recommendations are objective, independent, straightforward — and free.

So how do we make money? Our content is free to you, the reader, because we may earn a commission when you click or make a purchase using our site. This may influence which products we review and write about (and where those products appear on the site), but it in no way affects our recommendations or advice, which are grounded in thousands of hours of independent research. We sometimes offer premium or additional placements on our website and in our marketing materials to our advertising partners but our partners cannot, and do not, pay us to guarantee favorable reviews of their products or services. Summary

Tuft & Needle is a two-layer foam mattress comprising, from top to bottom:

  • Three inches of light, breathable polyurethane foam designed for comfort and maximum breathability. The top layer is heat wicking, drawing your body heat into the mattress and dispersing it using graphite and gel.
  • Seven inches of dense, polyurethane support foam meant to help alleviate the “quicksand” feeling you get from some foam mattresses. With a dense support layer, you are kept closer to the surface of the mattress which is good for back, hips, and shoulder support.
  • Topped with the thin and breathable Tuft & Needle mattress cover.

Tuft & Needle also launched another mattress, the Mint, which is an upgrade from the original mattress. The Mint offers amazing breathability, unbeatable support, and remarkable comfort, in addition to added edge support, more cooling features, and a thicker, cozy charcoal knitted cover.

Sean gave the Tuft & Needle mattress a 9 out of 10, saying, “Comfortable mattress for a good price! I had to do a bit of work to make sure the mattress arrived on time though. It would be nice for the delivery time to be more precise (as opposed to a 12 hour window).”
