Nature’s Sleep—GhostBed’s parent company, which has been around for over 10 years—was founded by CEO Marc Werner in 2001. After three neck surgeries, Werner set out to create mattresses for those who need neck and back support.

Nature’s Sleep worked from 2010 to 2015 to perfect the GhostBed, which is Nature’s Sleep’s first mattress in a box. This mattress falls at a 6.5 on the 10-point mattress firmness scale. GhostBed wanted to replace the “10-second showroom test” with a “101-night sleep trial.”

From top to bottom, the GhostBed consists of:

  • A polyester mattress cover—The top of the cover is made of 100% polyester and is incredibly thin for maximum airflow. The sides of the cover are made of a polyester (51%) and polypropylene (49%) blend, which gives it great durability. The cover has a zipper on the side and is machine-washable.
  • 1.5 inches of latex foam—The top layer has a density of 3.5 pounds and creates a plush, responsive mattress designed to keep you cool.
  • 2 inches of gel memory foam—This layer has a density of 4 pounds and consists of a proprietary gel formula with large gel cells to draw heat away from the body for a cooling effect.
  • 7.5 inches of high-density support foam—This layer has a 2-pound density, which, when coupled with its height, creates a layer of durable support.

GhostBed also launched a new mattress, the GhostBed Luxe, which is the only mattress with two stages of cooling that keeps you and your mattress cool throughout the night.

From top to bottom, the GhostBed Luxe consists of:

  • Ghost Ice Fabric—This proprietary Japanese formulation contains cooling properties woven into the fibers of the yarn.
  • 1/2-inch layer of cooling fiber—Located underneath the Ghost Ice Fabric, this layer aids in cooling the sleeper.
  • 1 inch of gel memory foam—This layer is included to provide a “GhostHug” feel to consumers.
  • Ghost Ice Layer—This layer contains cutting-edge phase change technology that captures heat and creates a cool sleeping environment.
  • A layer of gel memory foam—This second layer of gel memory foam absorbs heat and then dissipates it.
  • Ghost Bounce Layer—Similar in responsiveness to latex and having the contouring capabilities of memory foam, this Ghost Bounce Layer gives sleepers a floating feeling.
  • Support Core—This high-density base layer provides support, durability, and longevity.

With so many ship to you beds now available it’s hard to pick the correct one. We love our ghost bed and the price is spot on.” — Huzefa H.

We have had our new bed for about 2 months now and absolutely love it. It is so comfortable! It’s the perfect amount of firmness and my hips/back no longer feel like I’ve been in a car accident when I get up. I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get the ghost bed pillows with our order. Instead we received different pillows and I felt like the advertising was not up front about that.” — Mary J.
