Allied Van Lines is a full-service moving company that can help you create an affordable shed moving plan. Because they are a full-service mover, Allied has qualified staff trained in a myriad of different moving services, from furniture (and shed) disassembly and reassembly, to packing and unpacking, vehicle transport, and even antique and specialty item packing and loading. In fact, the company is so confident in its vehicle moving services that you’ll be reimbursed for the cost of a rental car if your shipment arrives late and prevents you from getting to work or school.
Allied Van Lines also has a moving container service called Allied Express. This service is specially engineered for small moves, so if you’re not relocating your entire household and you just want to relocate your storage shed, you can disassemble the pieces yourself and Allied will take care of the loading and unloading as well as the transportation. BEST OVERALL CONTAINER SERVICE
Unlike most of the shed movers on this list, U-Pack is not a full-service moving company. U-Pack is a moving container service that lets you pack your belongings into whichever containers you select. You have the option of using U-Pack’s patented ReloCubes which measure six by seven by eight feet. However, if you’re using containers to move a large shed, you would be better off choosing the full moving trailer.
Once you’ve made your selection, let the driver know your drop-off location. It’s up to you to disassemble the shed and load it onto the trailer. If you have a smaller, one-piece shed that you cannot disassemble, you can use skids and rollers to scoot it onto the moving trailer. However, if none of this sounds like something you are able to do or if you simply want to hire someone to do it, you have that option with U-Pack. U-Pack has a network of laborers called Moving Staffers. This allows you to contact movers and packers and hire them for an hourly rate. You won’t have to do any heavy lifting and you’ll be saving money in the process. The driver will then return to pick up the trailer and transport it to its destination.

Although North American Van Lines is a full-service mover specializing in long-distance household relocations, they also offer specialty packing and moving services as well as tips on DIY packing. They can handle your entire moving process from start to finish, but they do understand that some families would rather handle the packing process themselves. This is why they have helpful packing guides on their website, and you can even get packing supplies from North American.
Part of moving a shed is emptying everything out of it and packing it up. This is where North American’s services can come in handy. They can pack up these awkward items for you before they relocate your shed as well, or they can simply advise you on the best packing methods so you can pack everything yourself. When it comes to moving a shed, you can count on North American to take it apart, load the pieces safely, and unload and reassemble the shed at its new home.

Why Trust House Method
House Method’s Experts collected and analyzed 25 critical data points across multiple companies to identify what makes a great moving company in the eye of the consumer. Our reviews team used this data to assess over 40 moving providers for services provided, relocation costs, and national availability to provide unbiased reviews so homeowners can confidently navigate key decisions about their next move.
You have many options when it comes to shed moving services you can choose from. How can you make sure to choose the best one for your budget and needs? Here are some factors you can consider in order to make sure you’re working with a reputable moving company.
Although most full-service movers will include shed or storage building relocation in their services, these are extra and not included in a typical full-service household move. What are the costs associated with shed movers? Let’s take a look at the factors your moving company will consider when pricing your move.
As you begin comparing moving quotes, you might find that moving a shed is more expensive than you originally thought. The best way to lower the price that you’ll pay for your shed moving services is to compare multiple moving companies’ quotes before you book your moving date. While one company might charge hundreds of dollars to move your shed, others may be able to work out a deal on your moving package. You have no idea how much you might be able to save on your move before you get at least a few competing moving quotes.
Most large sheds can be taken apart so that they’re more easily transported. First, you need to empty all the items out of the shed. Next, you need to remove the doors and windows and wrap them up securely to prevent damage during relocation. You can then take apart the roof and four walls so that you can load them onto a moving vehicle.
In order to move a small shed that does not come apart into separate pieces, you will need to hire a moving company, or you need to enlist the help of several friends. Once you remove and pad the windows and doors of the empty small shed, you need to detach it from the foundation. Once the shed is mobile, clear the path to the moving vehicle. You can use moving skids or rollers and a ramp to scoot the shed into the moving vehicle. If you no longer have a warranty on your shed, or if you would rather skip the literal heavy lifting, it’s best to hire a shed moving company.
Depending on the size of the shed and the amount of labor involved, moving a shed can cost anywhere from a couple hundred dollars to more than $500.
At House Method, our primary goals are to be a reliable source of information and to be totally transparent to our readers. With that in mind, we’ve developed the following formula to render objective ratings – on a scale of 10 points – for the moving companies we review.
