Life Fitness Exercise Bike Review

The House Method team researches, reviews, and recommends a number of services, including pest control services. Affiliate disclosure.

For more than 45 years, Life Fitness has been creating effective, inviting, and reliable fitness equipment that’s built not only for elite athletes, but for exercisers of all abilities and fitness levels. After creating its first electric stationary bike, Life Fitness focused on innovation and now offers a variety of upright and recumbent bikes.

Depending on the model of your bike, you can choose from the Explore Console (which allows you to connect your fitness apps via bluetooth), the Discover SI Console (which comes with an LCD touchscreen and includes interactive workouts), or the Discover SE3 Console (which includes media apps like Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, RunSocial, and more).

In addition to exercise bikes, Life Fitness also provides indoor cycles. These products are an excellent option if you’re looking for the workout capabilities of an exercise bike, but are working with a smaller space. Indoor cycles include a weighted flywheel, which feels and looks a lot like an actual outdoor bike. Keep in mind, indoor cycles require that you lean over like an outdoor bike.

If you have back problems, this may not be the best option for you. If you prefer to stand up when cycling (for those who like bursts of speed and very high-intensity cardio), an indoor cycle might be your best option.

Shipping and installation

  • Delivery time varies on location, customization, and inventory. You can find shipping times for each product in your shopping cart or on individual product pages.
  • Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost.
  • Life Fitness includes white glove delivery services in the installation cost. Before the product arrives at your house, the Life Fitness team will contact you to set up a time to assemble and install your equipment, and clean up any excess material.
  • Illinois residents have the option to pick up their exercise bike or indoor cycle for $50 from the Life Fitness Illinois warehouse; however, this isn’t recommended because products are heavy and bulky. If this method is chosen, you will be responsible for loading, transportation, and assembly of your product.

  • You can return your exercise bike or indoor cycle within 30 days of delivery, however a 25% or maximum of $500 restocking fee will apply to non-defective product returns.
  • You may cancel your order for a full refund as long as you cancel before the order ships.
  • If there’s a defect that makes your equipment inoperable, the Life Fitness team will order and replace the parts at no cost to you.
